01 · verified destination

Use Paylocity's shared portal and your Company ID

Paylocity's verified sign-in destination is https://access.paylocity.com/. The live shared page asks for Company ID, Username, and Password; it does not require users to guess an employer subdomain. The Paylocity-assigned Company ID selects the workplace account. The same screen also exposes Single Sign-On Login for employers that send authentication to their identity provider.

The mobile app uses the company account and can expose time, schedule, pay, expense, onboarding, and Community features allowed by the employer. Paylocity Recruiting is a separate candidate door under recruiting.paylocity.com and should not receive employee-portal credentials. Paylocity Access Management is an employer-licensed SSO/MFA product powered through a OneLogin partnership; its connected-app factors are not proof of the native employee portal's configuration.

People also describe this destination as 'paylocity employee login,' 'paylocity company id login,' 'paylocity app login,' 'access paylocity login,' 'paylocity sso login' or 'paylocity forgot password.' Those phrases are search clues, not domains. Paylocity specifically tells users to bookmark access.paylocity.com because fraudulent search ads have imitated employee self-service sites.

02 · safe sign-in sequence

Route by Company ID before entering employer credentials

This six-step sequence uses the shared portal and keeps native Paylocity login separate from employer SSO.

  1. 01

Type or open the saved https://access.paylocity.com/ address, or use the official app. Do not choose a sponsored search result simply because its display text says Paylocity.

  2. 02

Confirm that the browser host is exactly access.paylocity.com before entering anything. Candidate pages under recruiting.paylocity.com are separate and are not employee sign-in forms.

  3. 03

Enter the Paylocity-assigned Company ID and employer-issued username. If the Company ID is unknown, use Help > Forgot Company ID or ask HR/payroll rather than guessing.

  4. 04

Enter the Paylocity password, or choose Single Sign-On Login when the employer instructed you to use its identity provider. Verify any redirected company domain.

  5. 05

Complete the factor presented by the configured workflow. Paylocity confirms MFA availability, but its public documentation does not enumerate a universal native factor or settings path.

  6. 06

After access, confirm the expected company and employee record. Sign out on shared devices and keep the verified portal bookmarked for future payroll or HR sessions.

03 · documented security path

MFA exists, but the public setup path is unknown

Settings path unknown

Current methods: unknown. No official step-by-step source strong enough for a method claim was verified through 2026-09-06. That is an evidence boundary, not a claim that Paylocity lacks two-factor authentication.

Paylocity's June 2025 security alert says MFA is active for client company administrators and that administrators can activate it for employees. The reviewed public material does not name a native employee or administrator activation menu and does not enumerate the native login factors. Keep that settings path unknown rather than importing factors from another Paylocity product.

Employer SSO can impose its own MFA policy. Paylocity Access Management also advertises TOTP, hardware tokens, OneLogin Protect, email, SMS/voice, and biometric factors for connected workplace apps, but those belong to the separate identity product. Four-digit codes sent during password recovery are documented recovery verification, not sufficient evidence of routine login MFA.

04 · what to look for

Three controls on the shared login

  • 01Single Sign-On Login
  • 02Forgot Password
  • 03Register New User

Single Sign-On Login opens the employer-configured federated path. Forgot Password starts native self-service recovery. Register New User begins first-time account registration. The same page also exposes Help for Company ID and username problems. Match these labels to the access.paylocity.com host before supplying identity data.

05 · service-specific lures

Fake search ads and recruiting impersonation are documented

Pattern 1

A sponsored or high-ranking search result imitates Paylocity's Employee Self-Service login and captures credentials and MFA codes.

Pattern 2

A fake Paylocity recruiter requests an interview or job-offer response by email, text, or phone, then asks for bank details, an attachment download, a fee, or immediate action.

Paylocity warns that criminals place fraudulent ads high in search results and copy Employee Self-Service portals. The fake site can capture credentials and MFA codes, then support paycheck redirection or benefits fraud. Type or bookmark access.paylocity.com, or use the official app; inspect the actual destination rather than trusting an ad's headline.

Paylocity also documents fake recruiters who request interviews or extend offers by email, text, or phone, then ask for bank details, attachment downloads, fees, money, or immediate action. Its warning identifies lookalike sender behavior such as name@mail.paylocity.com instead of name@paylocity.com. Verify the job through the official careers channel and do not send money or private information.

06 · locked-account plan

Use the registered contact channel, then contact HR

Choose Forgot Password, enter Company ID, Username, and the phone or email recorded for that user, complete reCAPTCHA, and enter the four-digit one-time passcode sent by email, text, or voice. Answer the login challenge question if it appears, then create the new password. Identifier recovery through Forgot Company ID/Username additionally asks for last name, last four SSN digits, home ZIP Code, and registered contact data.

If the account is locked, contact information is wrong, or no code arrives, contact the current or former employer's Company Administrator—normally HR or payroll. Paylocity says it is not authorized to discuss confidential account details directly with employees. The employer controls the record and reset; its identity provider controls recovery under SSO.

07 · passkey status

Native Paylocity passkeys are not confirmed

This guide does not claim current passkey support for Paylocity. A security key, device approval, or biometric prompt is not automatically a passkey, and an old product announcement is not enough to establish current availability.

No Paylocity-controlled public source reviewed on September 6, 2026 confirmed a FIDO/WebAuthn passkey for access.paylocity.com or a native passkey settings path. SSO, MFA, and biometric-factor language for Paylocity Access Management concerns connected workplace applications and must not be upgraded into a native portal or passkey claim.

Paylocity login questions

What is the official Paylocity login?

Use https://access.paylocity.com/. Paylocity tells users to bookmark that exact address because fake search ads have copied payroll and benefits portals.

Where do I find my Company ID?

Use the employer-supplied value or open Help > Forgot Company ID on the login page. Contact HR/payroll if the recovery details do not match the employee record.

How does Paylocity password recovery work?

Provide Company ID, Username, and registered phone or email, then enter the four-digit code sent by email, text, or voice. A challenge question may appear before the new-password screen.

Can I use company SSO?

Yes when the employer configures it. Choose Single Sign-On Login, use Company ID for routing, and authenticate at the employer's known identity provider.

Who fixes a Paylocity account when self-service fails?

The employer's Company Administrator, usually HR or payroll. Paylocity states that it cannot discuss confidential employee account details directly with individual employees.

DocuSign and NetSuite use separate work identities. Dayforce, UKG, HotSchedules, and Paycom cover adjacent workforce systems whose company codes, tenant routes, and recovery owners are not interchangeable.
