01 · verified destination

Start with the company, not a guessed tenant URL

Dayforce's verified desktop destination is www.dayforcehcm.com/mydayforce/login.aspx. Unlike services that put the organization name in a subdomain, Dayforce normally asks for a Company ID first. That value identifies the workplace and determines whether the next screen expects native Dayforce credentials or sends you to an employer identity provider. It is not the same thing as an employee number. Use the value in your first-access message or get it from HR rather than trying company names until one works.

The product name also covers several different doors. Ordinary workforce access belongs at the Dayforce web application or mobile app. Federated users can start with the Dayforce SSO router. Dayforce Wallet is a separate product, and candidates should use an employer's page under www.mydayforce.com/CandidatePortal/. People also describe this destination as “dayforce hcm login,” “ceridian dayforce login,” “dayforce employee login,” or “dayforce company id login.” Those phrases are search clues, not domains.

02 · safe sign-in sequence

A six-step Dayforce sign-in sequence

Keep the organization-routing step separate from your personal credentials. That makes a wrong company value or unexpected SSO redirect easier to spot.

  1. 01

Open the verified Dayforce web address from a saved bookmark, or open the official mobile app. Avoid search ads and links inside unexpected payroll messages.

  2. 02

Confirm that the browser host ends exactly in dayforcehcm.com before entering anything. Candidate pages are a documented exception under mydayforce.com/CandidatePortal/.

  3. 03

Enter the Company ID supplied by your employer. If you do not know it, stop and ask HR or use the first-access information rather than guessing.

  4. 04

Continue with the Dayforce user name or registered email requested by your configuration. If the page redirects to company SSO, use the employer's identity-provider credentials there.

  5. 05

Complete only the MFA method shown by the configured workflow—text, voice, authenticator-app code, or email when the employer has enabled that option.

  6. 06

After sign-in, verify the expected employer and profile before opening payroll or personal records. Sign out when using a shared device.

03 · documented security path

Security settings live under your profile

Settings path Profile > Settings > Security

Documented methods in the reviewed scope: SMS text message, voice call, authenticator app time-based code, email code where the organization enables that method. Availability can still depend on the product, tenant, account type, or organization policy described below.

Dayforce documents the employee security route as Profile > Settings > Security. Depending on workplace configuration, that area can let you update MFA contact information, review linked devices, and update the password, security questions, or PIN. Dayforce documents SMS, voice, authenticator-app codes, and email as possible MFA methods, but an individual employer decides what appears and whether it is required. Treat a missing option as a policy difference, not proof that the account is broken.

If SSO handled the login, the employer's identity provider may own the second-factor settings instead. In that case, use the company's IT route before changing anything in Dayforce.

04 · what to look for

Controls you can match to official material

  • 01Company ID
  • 02Reset Your Password
  • 03Update Security Questions

Company ID is the routing field on the web and SSO pages. Reset Your Password is the documented recovery control when self-service is enabled. Update Security Questions is a named control in the Dayforce profile flow. These labels are useful checkpoints: if an unfamiliar page immediately requests payroll details without first establishing the employer context, leave it and reopen the known destination.

05 · service-specific lures

Two Dayforce-related lures worth recognizing

Pattern 1

Urgent payroll or direct-deposit change request impersonating a senior leader or HR and linking to a fake company/Dayforce-style portal.

Pattern 2

Fake Dayforce recruiter or job offer using a misspelled/lookalike brand or portal and requesting money or sensitive personal information.

The first is payroll diversion. Dayforce describes attackers impersonating an executive or HR contact, creating urgency around payroll or direct-deposit information, and steering a victim toward a fake portal. Stolen credentials may then be used to alter bank details and suppress notifications. Do not use the message link; open your saved Dayforce route and verify any payroll request with HR through a known channel.

The second is recruiting fraud. Dayforce warns about people using lookalike names such as Dayf0rce or Dayfroce, offering jobs, and requesting money or sensitive personal information. A legitimate hosted candidate URL begins with https://www.mydayforce.com/CandidatePortal/. That prefix is a verification clue, not permission to trust every message that displays it—inspect the actual destination before opening it.

06 · locked-account plan

Recovery belongs to the employer relationship

When Reset Your Password is available, enter the Dayforce user name or registered email and follow the delivered link; some configurations also ask security questions. If the option is absent, the email is no longer available, or the account remains locked, contact the current or former employer's manager, HR, or payroll administrator. Dayforce's public help center does not reset individual employee credentials directly. The employer controls the identity and can escalate through the Dayforce Customer Community when platform help is required.

07 · passkey status

Passkey status: not confirmed

This guide does not claim current passkey support for Dayforce. A security key, device approval, or biometric prompt is not automatically a passkey, and an old product announcement is not enough to establish current availability.

No Dayforce-controlled public source reviewed on September 6, 2026 confirmed a FIDO/WebAuthn passkey option or an end-user passkey settings path. Dayforce does document biometric re-authentication in its mobile app, but that is not enough to call the service passkey-enabled. Keep this boundary explicit until Dayforce publishes a native passkey workflow.

08 · answers for this service

Dayforce login questions

Where should an employee sign in on a computer?

Use the official Dayforce application at www.dayforcehcm.com/mydayforce/login.aspx. Enter the employer-provided Company ID first; it routes the session to the correct organization and, where configured, to company SSO.

Is the Company ID an employee number?

No. It identifies the employer's Dayforce environment rather than one worker. Find it in first-time access information or ask HR, because guessing can route you to the wrong organization.

Can I reset my Dayforce password myself?

Often. Choose Reset Your Password and use the user name or registered email, then complete the link and any security questions shown. If self-service is unavailable, the employer must help.

Why did Dayforce redirect me to another sign-in page?

Your employer may use single sign-on. A Company ID or workplace access link can route to the company's identity provider, whose password and MFA policy then apply.

Can Dayforce support recover an employee account directly?

The public Dayforce guidance sends employees to their employer. Contact a manager, HR, or payroll administrator; that organization can raise a Dayforce support case if needed.

10 · continue safely

WhenToWork and HotSchedules focus on scheduling, while UKG, Paycom, and Paylocity cover broader workforce access. Okta may appear when the employer routes Dayforce authentication through its identity provider.
